INSTRUCTIONS

Please respond to all application questions in full. The individual identified should be the primary business owner. Eligible applicants must:

  • Own or lease space at a physical location zoned/licensed for business operations within the Lovejoy District since or before January 1, 2023.
  • Currently employ 25 or fewer full-time employees
  • Commit to creating or retaining at least one full-time employee
  • Be current or in an active payment plan for Federal, State, and Local taxes


Please be sure to upload Lovejoy District Small Biz Grant Opportunity Attestation Form, available under "Attachments" on the upper right corner of this page. This form also outlines all documentation requirements. All documents must be submitted, with these exceptions:

  • Applicant may submit most recent property tax bill, or if the space is leased a copy of the current lease and a letter from landlord stating they are current on rent.
  • Receipts are only required to be uploaded if costs that would be reimbursed with proceeds have been incurred to date.
  • Proof of General Liability Insurance listing both the City of Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency and the City of Buffalo as additional insureds is only required for those applicants using grant funds for repairs or construction work to be done in the future.

Lovejoy District Small Biz Grant Opportunity

Imagine what your business could achieve with a one-time grant of up to $10,000. This grant funding can assist with the costs of payroll, rent or mortgage, utilities, inventory, marketing and professional services, and moveable equipment.
